Description
Kyle® Type 6H three-phase recloser provide reliable, self-contained distribution-circuit overcurrent protection at low initial cost, and require minimal service. Because most line faults are temporary in nature, they will clear after only momentary circuit interruption; therefore, permanent outages usually are prevented. Automatic circuit reclosers both improve customer service and reduce operating costs.

- Heads are aluminum castings. Heavy-gage steel tanks are finished with an inhibiting epoxy prime coat and finish-coated with thermosetting acrylic paint. Finish color is light gray.

- Reclosers operate best when protected with surge arresters. On line applications, arrester protection is recommended on both sides of the recloser. If protection is to be provided on one side only, install the arrester on the source side. In substations, arresters are located on the load side. Cooper Power Systems distribution-class arresters provide excellent protection.
